Welcome to my collection In these pages you will find unique artifacts dating from the early 19th century up until the mid 20th century, with a particular emphasis on the Civil War era of medicine. I have divided the collection into three time periods: The Early 1800’s to Pre-Civil War Items in the first and last categories are listed chronologically, according to estimated date of manufacture, or date of use, if known. Items from the Civil War years are listed by category. In the Civil War section in particular, much research has been done to gather whatever historical information is available about each item, so that it may be portrayed in its proper context as accurately as possible. This website is a labor of love and represents over 30 years of collecting.
